Miniature Chocolate Cake – My 1st Mini Cake Attempt

I finished my first attempt at a mini chocolate cake this morning.

I have to say, it was more difficult doing the icing than I’d anticipated. I’ll have to think of new ways to do the icing piping in particular. But make the cake part look spongey and crumbly was a lot easier than I thought it would be. For a first attempt, it’s pretty good, i think:) But it made me want lots of chocolate…I think I’m gonna head out to the bakery now and pick up a chocolate cake – or at least a muffin – to cure a craving!

Double Chocolate Necklaces – Yum!

I’ve finished my first two miniature food necklaces…let me know what you think! Ah prototypes. I’m deciding between balancing the necklace with cookies in the front, or a plate of cookies that would hang down the back; both options balance the larger cup of hot chocolate (with whipped cream, chocolate comb deco, and chocolate dust).

So far there are two colour ways.

I’m working on my first line of necklaces…
All are centered around teatime!
Girliciously delicious, they will feature porcelain tea ware, lace, ribbon, and lots of pearls!

I’ve figured out a cool way to make very real-looking whipped cream, using icing tools.

Am hoping to have them finished by early next week, and will post pics as soon as they are done.
